ACCESSING CORNELL ARCHIVES

To book an appointment at Cornell, first you need to create an account, then log on to Aeon ( https://rmc-aeon.library.cornell.edu/) appointment booking menu. For Site put ‘Rare and Manuscript Collections’. Then choose your date on the calendar. Set Length of Appointment to whatever you want, then select the desired time, and give the appointment a name. You can tick Available To Proxies if you want someone else to be able to visit in your stead. Then hit the ‘Create Appointment’ button.

That’s it for booking appointments!

If you also want to book out a box, you can follow these steps:
1)      Find your desired item, folder, or box on https://rmc.library.cornell.edu/EAD/htmldocs/RMM07656.html. If it’s a folder or individual item, make a note of the box number (this is the most important thing). You will always receive the entire box even if you order only one folder or item from it.
2)      Open the Cornell University Library Catalogue at https://catalog.library.cornell.edu/, and search for the ‘Les K. Wright papers and Bear History Project files’
3)      In the ‘Availability’ box (right hand side), click ‘Finding Aid’.
4)      In the ‘Collection organisation’ box (right hand side), click on ‘Series IV. Bear History Project’. This will open an entire list of items from this series, with some sub-sections like ‘Bear Icons’, ‘Photos’, ‘Calendars’ etc.
5)      Find your chosen item, and click it. It may be helpful to do a Ctrl+F search for your desired item, as there are many items!
6)      Click the ‘Request’  icon. This will open Aeon in a new window.
7)      Double check that the correct box is listed under ‘Containers’, and that the Reading Room is ‘RMC Kroch Library Reading Room’.
8) Set the appointment to the one you made previously – then hit ‘Submit Request’.
